Refined Design Details Shared with Planning Commission and City Council

After gathering Planning Commission and City Council feedback on the initial 30% Design package, the project team refined bridge and plaza design elements (60% Design) for the tied arch bridge and gateway plaza. At two work sessions in August, the project team presented updates to the Planning Commission and City Council on bridge lighting, retaining wall treatment options, plaza pavement design, seating, and other plaza fixtures. The plaza design features small plaza and lawn areas with wooden benches, scattered kernel seating, a meandering pathway, shade structures, a green wall, and a rain garden. Based on feedback from Planning Commission and City Council, the project team will continue to look at refined retaining wall options and specialty paving treatments for inclusion in the final 90% Design package.
