On Dec. 8, the City hosted a virtual listening session to provide a forum for community members to speak directly to the Wilsonville City Council, City staff and the Wilsonville Police Department about personal experiences in Wilsonville and aspirations for a more inclusive community. Generally, the ideas that community members urged the City to pursue fit within the following themes:

• Development of a community Task Force to advocate for under-represented community members
• Increased Representation, Diversity on City Boards
• Consistent City communication to brand Wilsonville as an inclusive community
• More Inclusive Cultural Events, Celebrations & Holiday Recognitions
• Education to the Broader Community (how to address micro-aggressions, etc.)
• Opportunities for DEI Advocates to Network and Work More Efficiently Together

The City's long-term DEI strategy is to be directly informed by public feedback, both from this meeting and other perspectives shared at "Let's Talk, Wilsonville!"
