The Wilsonville City Council is weighing a number of new collection services to consider including in the City’s agreement with Republic Services, the community’s garbage and recycling franchised hauler.
The City Council is seeking input to determine public interest in the services listed below.
Residential Food Waste Program: allow kitchen food scraps to be collected with yard debris
Free Bulky Waste Pick-up for ADA/Senior Citizens: Wilsonville residents who have a disability or are older would have home pick-up of large/bulky waste items at no charge
Fluorescent Tubes Collection/Recycling: Republic Services would provide pre-paid shipping containers for specific types of fluorescent tubes for recycling by businesses
Styrofoam Collection/Recycling: Republic Services would set up a Styrofoam collection station for residents and commercial/industrial customers.
Wood Pallet Collection/Recycling: Republic Services would set up a wood-pallets collection station for commercial/industrial customers.
The addition of new services would not require any change in fees or rates. New collections would be designed to offset an increase in Republic Services operating margin above the range established in the new franchise agreement ordinance of 2018.
More than 100 Wilsonville residents and community stakeholders recently completed a brief survey on this page, ranking the above services in order of preference. Respondents indicated the most enthusiasm for residential food composting and styrofoam collection. The complete results are being provided to the City Council at a future work session.

Thanks for taking a brief survey to help City Council get a sense of which proposed service enhancements are most appealing to resident and commercial customers of Republic Services, the City's waste/recycling franchise.
