The design of the City's next great neighborhood park has been completed.

This park, which is located within Frog Pond West adjacent to the soon-to-be-built primary school on Boeckman Rd., will be about 2.9 acres in size.

The community has expressed overwhelming support for the new park, which is being funded with assistance from Metro's Local Share program. After sharing three draft designs, developed by the City with landscape architects from Portland-based Mayer/Reed, the City received feedback from nearly 150 community members. That process has informed the final design you see below.

In February/March 2023, the City shared a virtual house video, followed by a short survey that provided an opportunity for community members to share their preferences. Results were analyzed by the project team, after which architects developed a preferred design that incorporates the community's preferences.

Construction is expected to begin after the park plan is adopted by the Development Review Board and the City Council, and a successful RFP process is completed. If you have questions about the draft plan that we can answer before adoption, let us know.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the planning of this park. We look forward to delivering this great new amenity soon.
