Housing Our Future is a project to evaluate Wilsonville's housing needs for the next 20 years and to identify actions the City can take to help meet those needs. The project’s goal is to identify policies and strategies to provide local housing attainable and sustainable for you, your neighbors, and future generations.

The City has made significant recent progress in housing planning, including the Wilsonville Town Center Plan, Frog Pond master plans, the Equitable Housing Strategic Plan, and policy updates to accommodate a wider variety of housing types in Wilsonville.

Housing Our Future includes two key components:

  1. Analysis: The project will examine data and talk to community members to better understand unmet housing needs. This analysis will consider changes in population demographics (such as age, income, race, and other household characteristics) and information about increasing housing costs to help the City understand how to accommodate population growth and housing need for the next 20 years.
  2. Strategies: After the analysis, the City will develop near- and long-term ideas to meet the needs identified. The strategies will be informed by discussions with community members.

Your voice matters! Together, we can shape a brighter, more inclusive future by shaping Wilsonville's housing landscape to meet the community's need. Share your thoughts and experiences on this website, at community events advertised here, and via City's social media platforms and e-mail list. You can register to receive project updates by filling out the email sign-up form.

  • CLOSED: This survey has concluded.

Housing is a topic affecting the entire Wilsonville community, identified in the 2024 Community Survey as the biggest priority for the City in the next five years. To inform future housing planning, we’ve created a conversation guide to help you host discussions with friends, family, or colleagues about housing needs and how they could be supported by the City. Information collected from these conversations will inform strategies considered in the City’s Housing Our Future project.

Want to host a conversation? Here’s how!

    1. Fill out the form below to request a conversation guide. Guides will be available throughout October and November.
    2. Create your invite list. Not sure who to invite? Consider reaching out to friends, community groups, neighbors…anyone you think has a compelling story to share about their housing experience.
    3. Host your conversation. Where and when you do so is up to you, but make sure you create an environment where your guests feel comfortable sharing their housing stories. The guide will provide you with instructions to make your conversation a success!
    4. Share your results. The guide will provide you with instructions for how to submit results back to us. Please plan to submit your results no later than Friday, December 13, 2024.

Want to provide feedback but don’t want to host a conversation? Let us know and we will do our best to match you up with a conversation host.
